Poor Jack...

My husband.
I am so thankful for this man!
Over the last 3 days he has cleaned up over 70 bowls of spew.
He has washed 3 sets of sheets.
He has soothed 3 feverish brows...over and over and over again.
All with a sympathetic heart and loving kindness.

It wasnt the Easter celebration our family thought we'd be having.
And while I cant profess to have gleaned any new wisdom in relation to Christ's death and resurrection this year, I did have one (horribly graphic) thought. Which I probably shouldnt share...

While sitting on the toilet, bowl in hand, being very sick...I thought to myself that there could be nothing more demoralising or degrading. Until I thought of the sheer pain, degradation and suffering of Christ on the cross...and thats just the physical part. Sure puts a bout of gastro into perspective.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are all sick. I *kinda* know the feeling, only ours was a different kind of sick. The boys are just today acting more like their normal selves.

Enough about us, I hope and pray you all get well soon. Thank the Lord for loving husbands and daddies!

I know the cross must have been very degrading for Christ, but I sometimes wonder if He was too sad to feel much of anything else(emotionally). It does put it into perspective to know that He *willing* suffered more than any of us ever will.
