What else do you do...?

Jayde is in the middle of her 2 weeks of school holidays.

So far we've had....rain, rain, wind, hail, rain, hail, wind, wind, rain....pretty much just this kind of weather every.single.day. After teasing us with 2 months of hot, dry weather....its a cruel blow indeed. Did I mention I have five uni assignments due before the end of this month? And that the lack of an outdoors play area is umm...turning me into a desperate woman.

So what else do you do? After you've exhausted all the puzzles, board games, books, movies etc the kids can handle? When the only game they desire to play is to kamakaze bomb off the top of bunk beds and hope that they land on a beanbag? When all the negative ions outside have made them giddy and crazy and wild and unruly? When you break out in a gastly hairline stress rash and feel like hiding from your own children?

You let em sing.

To hear Jaydes efforts, test out the new music player :) I cant decide which one I like best...I know its slightly painful but still, its CUTE! Do it! (and seriously, can someone please try it out so that I know it doesnt just work in my browser?).

Ahhh. I know it may be unpolished. And pipey. And warbley. But to a mothers ears...its so sweet.

Maybe even just a small taste of what God must feel as we sing our praises to Him.
:)

Okay, I can promise you that God does not hear anything anywhere near that adorable when I sing.

Did you ever hear Adam's three-year-old version of Jingle Bells? It's a little risky.

I have got to figure out how to put some of Jay's family's music on my blog. How do you do it?

The earliest CD I have of them was when Jay was 15 so it's not as cute, but they are pretty talented.

We have cassette tapes from when he was ten. Those are pretty funny.

Nuff 'bout Jay. This is so cute! I think I'll be smiling all day now. Thanks for sharing!

Takes after her momma I guess!

I am seconding Heidi... what equipment do you have? And how do you get it on the blog?

Heidi- lol....I'll have to check out your blog archives- do you remember what month etc? I remember Jack telling me years ago about Jay's awesome musicianship, that would be cool to put on your blog.

Crystal-I think all little kids sound cute! Im yet to come across one that didnt :) I dont think Jayde is particularly outstanding but as long as she can have fun & carry a tune it'll give her a good foundation to build from when her voice starts maturing.

So- how to put your own music on your blog? There's lots of ways.
The simplest way to load more than one song (I think) is:
- Get your music onto mp3s on your computer. (You can record in wav. & convert to mp3 if necessary).
- Go to a free file hosting site. File Factory was ultra easy. You just create a free account & upload your songs.
- Use their tools & their music player to generate a playlist- press a button & it will generate a code.
- Go to your blog layout- add a gadget under html/javascript and paste your code.
- voila.

You can also get an xspf player similar to my old 'what if' player and create a playlist for that. But you still have to host your music files somewhere & also the player application files & playlist.

If you want just one song to play, its just one html code (you can google this, you still need to host the song somewhere).

Hope that helps? Im so not good with this kinda stuff...!
