Im not really into 'space'; I mean, I still thought Pluto was a planet. But we figured that since the sight only rolls around every few decades, we should take the kids somewhere to get a good view. The conditions werent ideal for pictures....and I think Jayde enjoyed burying her brother in the sand more than viewing the red planet; but we tried.
So here is the moon....and planet Mars (the little dot)....as seen on Saturday night.

Planet Mars was like this exceptionally bright, huge, brilliant star and redder than this shows; the picture doesnt do it justice. And the moon was shining 30% brighter than normal, it was really light and kind of eerie.
Here is the moon rising. We had gotten there just as it started coming up, but it rose VERY rapidly...before I could even set the tripod up or get the camera out of the bag. Crazy.

And like most trips out with my family (and camera) I come away with a new appreciation and thankfulness of Gods wonderous creation.

Wow! You won't see that kind of moon in North Idaho, that is awesome! (or ocean for that matter)
So pretty...
And that sounds like so much fun!
