Unintentional cowgirl?

You know how in western movies the cowdudes always have awesome spurs clanking on their strong, leathery boots? Those are cool.

Well apparently if you have size 12 feet and are therefore consigned to wearing thongs or converse for the rest of your life, you can grow your own heel spurs. On your heel bones. Those are not cool.

For a while now I have been getting some excruciating pains coming from my left foot. Had some xrays on thursday...turns out I have a heel spur. And all the tendons in my foot are highly inflamed- this is the part causing the chronic pain.

Felt very miffed at the doctor, my husband, my mother, the podiatrist, for pointing out the obvious- I need better quality shoes (sorry Chuck). WHERE can I find such shoes? The only female shoes I can see in my size...are either creepy black lawn bowling shoes that probably come alive and choke you in the night....or 6 inch glittery platforms-obviously made more for non-females in wigs that mime to Abba songs on Oxford St.

Whinge fest over. Its not the end of the world. My feet still work. (And its not like I ate my own poo or anything).

Are you saying you don't like Abba? =)

you should get some Sketchers or if you do a lot of walking on concrete, Merril is awesome too! They are awesome for me at work, where I am on concrete for 12hrs straight. Even of you had to find in a men's size, they would still look good...
Good luck on your shopping!

You poor thing!
My mom has that same thing, only she's on her feet 10 hrs a night. She's thinking about having them cut the tendon or something?? She's dealt with it for a long time, but she said it will go away even if she doesn't have anything done to it.
Ouch, I know the pain you're going through!
Oh, ask Terah about the shoe shopping thing... I know she always used to have a hard time finding shoes cause of her shoe size... she does good at finding cute ones!

I'm sorry about your foot problems. Will ask if perhaps the Lord would see fit to heal you up quickly--and that you are able to find some comfy shoes.

I normally wear a size 10...which isn' that big, considering my height! Sketchers are the most comfortable, but they only go up to size 11 in women's, and beware; they run almost a full size smaller than other brands. (at least for me) So you would for sure need to buy men's. They are the only ones (including nike, adidas, etc.) that don't give me blisters. I've never had any problems with my feet, though, so I'm not sure if they'd even work for what you need.
I hope that you heal (no pun intended) quickly.
