A random post of a few things lately. (Btw, have updated my cameras firmware but havent been able to test the noise problem outside yet...inside seems better...not great, but better).
Sydney winter. Basically...it gets colder and sometimes it gets wetter. Last year I didnt even bother unpacking all of our jumpers (sweaters) and heavy jackets...but this year I have because I think its going to be a cold one.
However, in winter, most of our trees stay green and we even manage to retain some flowers in the garden. I love going outside in our yard with the camera. I always see something that directs me to the Creator in a new appreciation and wonder at all that He has wonderfully made.
These are some of the last frangipani blooms of the year...this tree is right outside our bedroom window and they smell...gorgeous!
K, not really flowers, but rainbow lorrikeets. In the afternoons, the trees outside our yard are alive with movement and screeching as these bright coloured beauties get their afternoon snack.
Roses. We have lots of them....pink, white, yellow, red....so pretty.
I'm not entirely sure what this is called, but it only flowers for a day or so and then dies. Every year I tell myself Im going to get a picture, and this year I thought I'd missed my opportunity again, but found one right at the back of these shrubs...the picture really doesnt do it justice.
Bougainvillia- very pretty but watch out for the thorns!

And second birthday flower delivery..... :).
I always see these on tombstones...and by our mailbox :)

Visitor! My sister came up to visit us last weekend.....it was soooo nice to see her :). We all went out and had a great time...wahhh, I wish we lived closer!

I'm also getting old :). Here is the lovely birthday 'cake' (gluten free pavlova) that Jack organised. I was very surprised! But YUM!

Here's a story. You might think its silly but its not to me.
I was driving to the place where my blood tests were held at. It was in a suburb in the city that I dont usually go to so I wasnt familiar with it except to know that parking is a real pain in that area. I came to an intersection and there was the option to turn left, go straight, veer right or turn right. I knew I was meant to veer right, but got stuck in the turning lane and had to turn right. As I travelled down the street a lady got into her car up ahead and pulled out of a space, so I pulled in there to look at the map and figure out where I needed to go. I looked up at the street sign and it said 'Regent St'. I was on the right street! I looked at the address and then at the shop numbers...and I was at #46. The exact number I needed to get to. This might not seem like a big deal....but I had asked God to go before me and prepare a place for me, particularly with parking because I didnt want to run late or have to walk far with my foot. I was just flooded with thankfulness. He has His hand on us in all the little things and so we literally can go through each day being overwhelmed with his provision and loving kindness.
'I know that the Lord is always with me. No wonder my heart is filled with joy, and my mouth shouts his priases!' (Ps 16:8-9).

And the goofiest girl in the world! Here she is dancing & singing whilst cleaning her room. What a goofy look!

I've also been busy trying to acquaint myself with the new sewing machine. We are going to be friends. Maybe. I havent decided yet. But its a friendship that needs nurturing with lots of time & chocolate. My old friend the vacuum cleaner hasnt been seen for days :S. So far I've made...a little bag, 2 aprons, embellished some clothes and made a tunic/kaftan type thingy. Should I blog them? Eep. Im so not a master-crafter.

Tomorrow it's Jacks birthday. The kids got him a really nice watch. He is very fussy with watches- we saw the perfect one...right dial, right extras, right size band, right type of band....it was titanium which is really durable for work...annnnnd it was $900. Umm. Nup. We settled on something not quite as nice, but a much better deal! Tomorrow night Jack and I are headed into the city to go out for dinner and then see the musical Cats. Should be good!
Am finally on the home stretch of the church directory making. Yay, that will be a big project completed. Then there's Jaydes class yearbook pages...and more pictures and...and...lots to do.
Sorry my blog is so boring & sucky. Maybe next time I'll have something worth posting :).

Happy Birthday Karina,
Would you tell Jack Happy Birthday for me, too?

Happy Birthday!
Jack doesn't look a day older...
Love all of your flowers. I can't wait to get more around here!
I liked your story, too. It would be a huge praise for me, especially if I had all the kids with me. Ha!
